Future Startup Now. New Horizons.

Partaking on Future Startup Now not only opened to new opportunities to find a career, but also meet individuals in a similar situation to me, industry professionals and build up a network for myself. Organised by Create Jobs with Hustlecrew’s Founder Abadesi Osunsade, to give young people the boost they need into the startup industry, to either start their own companies or join existing ones.

Through the rapid three-week program, I gained further insight into the startup industry ranging from; How to pitch and present a product or idea, the different industries and business models within tech, startup company structure, personal and professional branding, how to maintain relationships between customers and growth methods. These are just a few of the broad array of topics discussed during the program, some presented by existing industry professionals in the startup or digital industries.

One of the talks given by Andy Ayim he talks about his upbringing and how he used the skills I learnt from his youth to be where he is now. In particular, how he talked about how is perseverance and playing the “long-game” through build up his personal brand, through blogging led to him founding his own startup and working his way up through the tech industry. It remotivated me to work on myself and my own branding, to not only make my interests known, but develop previous projects further to their true potential.

Starting onwards, I shall drive to develop further my portfolio work, and refine it to a professional standard that it deserves to be, and seek career oppotunities in the startup industry through my skillset.
